Your Webmaster and creator and curator of the Web sites of Golden Age Airfield Registers, G.W. Hyatt, performs public speaking, research and writing exclusively under the auspices of his non-profit company, Delta Mike Airfield, Inc. Through contemporary multi-media, he publishes and celebrates the people, aircraft, places and events that were recorded between 1925 and 1942 in the old Registers. All proceeds from book sales (left sidebar), donations (right sidebar) and speaking engagements go to source these Web sites.

Hyatt is an instrument-rated, commercial pilot and A&P. He earned his Airframe & Powerplant certificates in 1996. Attending night classes while working full-time, he graduated summa cum laude with an associate degree in engineering sciences, and a speciality in aviation maintenance.

He retired in 1996 from a midwest consumer products company, where he held positions in management systems, product development, environmental affairs and pharmaceuticals. He earned numerous awards for innovation, teamwork and publication. Before that he was professor of biological sciences at a midwest university.

He acquired copies of the various Registers (table, below) over the past decade. His life has not been the same since he first opened them and viewed their faded, handwritten pages.

Since 2000, Hyatt has spent a couple of weeks each summer engaged in research activities at the National Air & Space Museum Archives, Washington, DC. Work on behalf of the Registers has taken him coast-to-coast in the U.S. to visit museums, archives, historical societies, personal photograph, artifact and document collections, and, in some cases, with the actual aircraft and people who are signed in the Registers between 1925 and 1942. These on-the-ground visits are supplemented by email correspondences (and some personal visits) with relatives of Register signers.

These are supplemented by contacts by individuals who own some of the vintage airplanes, or have other information about the people, aircraft, places and events that find mention and origin in the Registers. They have led to many constructive international email correspondences with site visitors not only in the U.S. and Canada, but also in many European countries, India, South America, China and Mexico.

The Web site research has led to the publication of numerous articles and books by your Webmaster. The books are listed in the left sidebar. Please direct your browser also to the PUBLICATIONS button at the top of this screen to view a sampling of some of his other writings. In most cases you can download from there PDF copies of the articles.

If you have been touched by my sites, please, you may support them via the PayPal DONATE link in the right sidebar.
